President Schwedler called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. He thanked everyone who attended the meeting.

President Schwedler

President Schwedler began speaking about the StormReady initiative. We went into the residence halls before Thanksgiving Break to identify locations of safe shelter areas and signs. Thank you to everybody who helped with this project. We will now begin to assemble a proposal to send to the Department of Residence to place the shelter signs.

Next semester, we will try to put together a CPR Training session in the spring. It will be operated by Stephanie Melton, a member of our club, and the cost per person should be less than 20 dollars. A date will be finalized next semester.

We have a winner for the annual ISU AMS Snowfall Contest. The winner, who predicted that it would snow a full inch at the Ames, IA airport on Saturday, 22 November, was Amanda Bakley. Congratulations, Amanda!

Vice President Deppe

A few people still need to pick up their AMS apparel. Please see Mr. Deppe if you still need them.

There are still ISU Meteorology window clings available for $5 a piece. Get them while they.re hot!!

There was discussion regarding whether or not to move the calendar sales to the Spring semester, instead of the Fall. The chapter expressed interest in trying to start the process in the spring to allow for more calendar sales.

Mr. Deppe also brought up ideas for our annual Spring Break Trip. We have made trips to places like Houston, TX, Oklahoma City, OK, and Denver, CO for past trips. If there are any special meteorology-based locations you would like to go to, let Mr. Deppe know.

Treasurer Karsten

Funding for a new weather station on the roof of Agronomy Hall was brought up. There was interest within the club in putting money towards the new weather station.

Social Chair Hoffman

Our final social night of the semester will occur on 5 December at 7:00 PM in Agronomy 3140. With the Christmas holiday coming up, we will be watching National Lampoon.s Christmas Vacation. Bring your friends and have a good time! There will popcorn and other food provided.

There was discussion for a social event for those from Minnesota over Christmas break. Keep an eye to your inboxes for more information.

Academic Chair Prentice

E-mail your Section Leaders for Final Exam review sessions. The sooner you contact your section leader, the better.

The Weather Challenge Forecast Contest is going well. We were ranked at 14^th in the nation. We are now currently forecasting for Kansas City, MO. Keep on forecasting!

Past President Hobbs

There will be a poster created for the National AMS Annual Meeting in Pheonix, Arizona. Photos for the poster need to be sent to Jon Hobbs at jonhobbs@iastate.edu. Mr. Hobbs asked the ISU AMS to cover or partially cover the $54 dollar fee to create the poster. A motion was brought up to cover the whole cost, and a vote was held for the motion. It passed.

Keep on taking those photos of social events, and anything meteorologically relevant. Be sure to post them on the Forums!!

Cy.s Eyes on the Skies

The latest update from Ben McNeill and Jeff Edmondson was that Cy.s Eyes shows are going well, and equipment has been cooperating. They mentioned some confusion with the dues process. Mr. McNeill stated new standing rules, and a change of the constitution was brought up to address the payment of the dues to ISUtv. Some of the important rules that were discussed included: funding sources for Cy.s Eyes by the Department of Geological and Atmospheric Sciences, and the standing rules to create a dues policy. These new laws will be voted on at the next meeting.

Outreach Chair Rabideau

The weather calendars are here!!! Be sure to pick your calendars up if you didn.t after the meeting. The most calendar amount sold was 42, which were sold by Anthony and Ryan Lueck! Since they sold the most calendars, they won a Target gift card. Congratulations, you two!

We are considering selling calendars at Hy-Vee either Saturday, 13 December or Sunday, 14 December. The actual date will be determined soon.

You can still sell calendars; there are about 50 extra. The order forms can be found on the AMS website at http://www.meteor.iastate.edu/ams/calendarinfo.php. Thank you to everyone who sold calendars this year.
